SHOULD I GET MY FIANCEE AN ENGAGEMENT RING?
Most of the ladies
at their embassy interview will be wearing their
engagement rings, they will notice whether she is
wearing one or not. It does makes a statement
about the seriousness of the relationship.
Now it's up to you
to decide just how critical it is. Please
consider
buying a cubic zirconium just for her interview. It
could be sent discretely so not to get stolen or she
could buy one locally.
Are we saying that she will be denied her visa
unless she is wearing an engagement ring? That is
not what we said.
AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP
Your wife can apply for Naturalization
(Citizenship) if she has been in her Green Card
status (including Conditional Green Card) for 2
years and 9 months and married to a U.S. citizen for
that entire period of time. To get a Green Card she
must apply for an Adjustment of Status after you are
married.
ARE WRITING POSTAL LETTERS
IMPORTANT?
After all, don't they know everyone uses video
chats and email?
The Philippines is a 3rd world country. Most
things there are still done the old fashion way. Our
impression is that at her
U.S. Embassy
interview having postal letters that you have sent
to each other is VERY IMPORTANT.
The U.S. Embassy
in Manila likes to see postal letters, for that
reason we recommend that you start sending 1 letter
per month back and forth. She will take both your
and her letters with her to the interview. We can
use your Email correspondence and chat sessions to
file for her visa if you don't have any postal
letters now, but for her interview "she should have
some postal letters". Now sit down and write a letter
and mail it! Also, pick up the phone and call her
and make sure you keep your phone bill.
Are we saying that she will be denied her visa
unless we have postal letters to show them at her
interview? That is not what we said now, was it?
